Arun Subramanian, O.D.
Dr. Subramanian received his B.S. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry. He completed externships at the New Mexico Veterans Affairs Health Care System in Albuquerque, New Mexico and the Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Center in Mesa, Arizona. Dr. Subramanian completed a hospital-based residency emphasizing ocular disease at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salisbury, NC. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of the American Optometric Association, North Carolina State Optometric Society, and National Optometric Association. Dr. Subramanian is the founder of the Triad Area Young Optometrists group, President of the Winston-Salem District Optometric Society, Member of the North Carolina State Optometric Society Executive Council, and Treasurer of the North Carolina Chapter of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Subramanian annually participates in vision screenings for children throughout Guilford and Rockingham counties. He also is a provider for the national InfantSEE program. Under this program Dr. Subramanian provides a free, one-time, comprehensive eye assessment to infants in their first year of life, offering early detection of potential eye and vision problems. As Director of the Dry Eye Clinic, Dr. Subramanian has successfully treated many patients for the symptoms of chronic dry eye syndrome. The clinic was established in 2007 and is currently the only Dry Eye Clinic in Guilford and Rockingham counties. He also specializes in the management of ocular disease and performing complicated contact lens fittings. |
